How is there no SIM or subscription? ▾
i-Series rides two existing, massive crowdsourced networks: Apple's Find My (~1.5B+ devices) and Google's Find My Device (~1.5B+ Android devices). When any phone passes your tag, it silently and anonymously relays an encrypted location to SYNTRA. You pay one price per device — hardware and platform bundled — and the network is free forever.
What's the real-world range? ▾
Each tag advertises over Bluetooth LE roughly 100ft in open conditions — less through steel containers, more in open lots. Because billions of phones are moving constantly, your tag doesn't need direct sight to a phone 24/7; it only needs one phone to walk within range at some point to report a location.
Does it work if my asset is somewhere remote? ▾
Anywhere there are phones, it works — cities, highways, ports, airports, warehouses. In truly no-phone areas (remote rural, open ocean), the tag stores last-known location and reports the moment it's back in range. For 24/7 telematics visibility, we recommend pairing with the SYNTRA 5G Smart Label or WayPoint GPS device.
How private is this? Can other people see my assets? ▾
No. Relaying phones never see your data — Apple and Google both use end-to-end encryption. Only the SYNTRA dashboard (authenticated to your tenant) can decrypt and display your asset locations.
How fast does a tag report? ▾
Typically within minutes of a phone passing by, often seconds. In dense urban environments, location updates can be near-real-time. In remote areas, updates cluster around when people pass through.
How does pricing work? ▾
One price per device — hardware and the platform license are bundled together. Pay once, no monthly bill, no contracts. The license matches the device's expected battery life: i1 = 30 months, i2 = 36 months, i3 = 40 days (disposable), i4 = 12 months. When the device dies, you swap in a new one — no migration headaches.
